A sensitive encounter with one’s own body, where play, intuition, and deep listening open paths for the exploration of Colombia’s Afro-Caribbean culture: beginning with a cacao ritual we open the space to explore
projecting our voice to feel the power of it,
clapping to create the rhythm container together,
a call and response structure for singing and
open the middle of the circle to celebrate the dance.
This is an invitation to move beyond lyrics and steps. We approach dance, music and natural medicine as a living expression of culture, memory, identity, and collective connection.
VALKIRIA (CO) is a trained dancer (University of the Arts in Buenos Aires and at Academia de Artes Guerrero in Bogotá), however her true teachers have been the roads, landscapes, communities, and bodies throughout her travels across South America, Mexico, and Germany.
“I love bringing rituals into the danced space as forms of prayer, spell, sowing, magic, and provocation. I believe in dance as a daily practice of transformation—a bridge between the visible and the invisible.”
