Emka lebt und tanzt in Leipzig und ist tief verbunden mit der Contact Improvisation Community. Seit 2007 organisiert Emka Festivals – darunter das CI Festival Leipzig –, gibt CI-Workshops und veranstaltet regelmäßige Jams. Die Tanzpraxis wurde auf zahlreichen internationalen Festivals geteilt und verfeinert.
Die künstlerische Forschung kreist um Konsens und Einvernehmlichkeit: Wie können wir durch achtsame, konsensbasierte Kommunikation Tanz und zwischenmenschliche Begegnungen bereichern und transformieren?
Weitere Schwerpunkte sind Genderfragen, das Schreiben utopischer Fiktionen, Inklusion, das Tanzen mit uns als Familien, interdisziplinäre Kunstpraxis und Community-Entwicklung. Emka hat einen M.A. in Sozialwissenschaften und befindet sich aktuell in der Ausbildung zur Systematischen Beratung.
